The former winter palace of Queen-Mother Emma (mother of Queen Wilhelmina) is now a museum displaying 130 works of M.C. Escher.
Escher was a unique artist, known for his intriguing drawing with strange perspectives and building that seem logical at firs glance, but are quite impossible to build.
His work is influenced by mathematics and Islamic art.
Escher grew quite famous in the United States. Escher is known to once have refused, at the age of 70, to design a record cover for the Rolling Stones, requested by Mick Jagger. He said he had no time.
The museum is located in a nice part of Den Haag.
