Dutch airports closed again because of ash cloud from Iceland

Only the airports of Maastricht and Eindhoven, in the South of the country, are still open.

Schiphol Amsterdam Airport is closed until at least 2pm (it was closed from 6am). About 500 flights have been cancelled, affecting the travel plans of some 60,000 passengers.

Although a complete closure of Schiphol has been announced, from the Simply Amsterdam office we've seen at least two KLM planes fly to Schiphol to land, around 11 am.

Schiphol asks passengers to not come to the airport, but first contact the airline they are flying with.
