Intimate gay lunch cafe.
Open since 1970, therefore the oldest gay company in Amsterdam that still exists. It was one of the first venues that was openly gay, not hidden behind a secret doorbell.
They started as 'Coffeeshop Downtown', as in 1970 that did not yet mean 'place where you get soft drugs'. Later they changed the name into Lunchroom Downtown.
The lunchroom is in the oldest building of Reguliersdwarsstraat, dating from 1642.
