Coffeeshop the Grasshopper can no longer sell soft drugs

The Grasshopper, one of the most well-known coffeeshops in Amsterdam, is no longer allowed to sell marihuana.

The coffeeshop, located in a prestigious old building close to the Central Station, was visited a lot by tourists, for whom it is one of the first coffeeshops if you arrive in Amsterdam by train.
The City no longer wanted to prolong the sales license, because of the general clean-up in the postal code 1012 area.

The Grasshopper had fought the decision at a court of law, but today the judge ruled that the City of Amsterdam had acted in a way that is legal.
