Christmas lights on again in village 'Den Ilp'

Like every year, many gardens and houses in the village Den Ilp (just north of Amsterdam) have been extensively decorated with Christmas lights.

And also, like every year, this will lead to an enormous line of slow going traffic on the main road through the village, in the evening. The decorations draw thousands of visitors from miles around.

The best way to reach Den Ilp is by car. It is about 12 kilometers (7 miles) north of the centre of Amsterdam, just north of the village of Landsmeer.
