This year the Chinese New Year parade will be held on Saturday January 28.
2006 will be the Year of the Dog.
The lions and dragons will walk again on January 28, from 11am until approximately 5pm, on the Nieuwmarkt square in the old centre of Amsterdam, near the Chinese neighbourhood.
There will also be a lot of firework, and of course food. With New Year the Chinese celebrate the advent of the new spring.
The Chinese temple on the Zeedijk has a food offering on Sunday.
Saturday evening at 7pm there is a Chinese New Year dinner in Sea Palace (floating Chinese restaurant in the water just east of the Central Station).
In the Concertgebouw there is a special Chinese New Year's concert, on Sunday January 29, starting 3pm.
