Carnival street parade in Rotterdam (Sat 28 July) 2.6 km long

The street parade of the Rotterdam Summer Carnival will have a record length of 2.6 kilometers. About a million spectators are expected.

The yearly Summer Carnival has grown into one of the biggest festivals in the Netherlands.
The colourful highlight of Summer Carnival is the famous Streetparade. This year the Streetparade takes place at Saturday 28 July.

An initially Antillean and Aruban occasion, Summer carnival has grown over the years into an event with which many cultures can identify. Nowadays Surinam, Brazil, Cape Verde and Bolivia are among the visible influences.

The parade starts at 1pm, in the South of Rotterdam (see map). Later on in the afternoon, the parade will pass near the Central Station.

The best way to get to Rotterdam is by train, the ride takes 1 hour. There will be extra trains on Saturday to cope with the expected number of visitors.
