Campsite Vliegenbos is a campsite in Amsterdam North, located in the park called 'Vliegenbos'.
This site is ideal if you want to visit Amsterdam itself, but also like to venture out into the rural part North of Amsterdam.
It is quite close to the center of Amsterdam, but you need a ferry to cross the IJ river
To go to Central Station, you walk (or cycle) to the IJ-plein ferry (about 20 min. walk). This ferry runs until midnight.
After midnight, you must use the Buiksloterweg ferry, which runs day & night, always.
Since 2015, there is also the Oostveer, a 10min. walk. This ferry runs only until 10.30pm. The Oostveer lands at Azartplein, where you can take tram 10 to Leidseplein directly, or to Museum square (Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh, Stedelijk), for example.
