Brood is a lunch cafe right off the NDSM ferry that you can take from Central Station.
Like the name says, it specializes in bread dishes, but Brood makes its bread of sourdough. Sourdough is a mix of water and flour in which 'wild' starters create natural fermentation. This mix and process lets the bread dough prove.
They also sell bread made of spelt wheat, an 'old-fashioned' kind of wheat, said by some to be very healthy.
There is outdoor seating with view to the IJ (and the ferries coming and going).
