On a building site near the Rijksmuseum, a large fire has broken out.
On a construction site, at the front of the building, building materials have cought fire.
A thick black smoke spread over large parts of the inner city.
The fire department closed off part of the environment of the Rijksmuseum, as it was feared that poisonous gases could be produced by the fire. Later on the evening the fire fighters controlled the fire.
According to measurements performed by the fire department, no dangerous gases were present in the smoke.
