The bicycle taxi and motor taxi that now operate in the centre of Amsterdam, are allowed to stay.
Officially, the motor taxis and bicyle taxis were on trial. Research shows that citizens and tourists appreciate the taxis. The Amsterdam Centre authorities have now decided to let them stay.
The bicycle taxis (website in Dutch) are modern looking bicycle vehicles that cover passengers against rain. There will be a maximum of 30 bicycle taxis in Amsterdam.
Up to now to motor taxis (website in Dutch) operate in Amsterdam. Helmet (different sizes available) and motor clothes are provided.
