The author Harry Mulisch, who died October 30, will get a special funeral boat tour over the river Amstel.
The funeral will be held tomorrow (November 6), on the cemetery Zorgvlied, which is located along the river Amstel.
Before the boat tour there will be a funeral service in the Stadsschouwburg theater at Leidseplein square, close to where the author lived.
The memorial gathering is expected to last until 1.30 pm, and will be broadcast live on national tv.
After the service he will be brought by boat to Zorgvlied, where his burial will start about 2.30 pm.
The route of the boat is not entirely clear, but is most likely over the Singelgracht canal to the river Amstel, then to the Zorgvlied cemetery (see this map we created).
