The Amsterdamse Bos is Amsterdams largest park - although technically it lies mostly in the adjacent town of Amstelveen. The park is owned by Amsterdam (and Amsterdam pays for the maintenance).
The park was created in economic crisis the 1930's, as a work project for the unemployed.
The park has several large meadows, walking paths, cycling paths and picnic places. There are also places to eat and a camp site.
Access is free, like in all parks in Amsterdam.
