Amsterdam Marathon has more foreign participants than ever

The Amsterdam Marathon will be held tomorrow, October 18. It is the 34th edition, and there are more foreign participants than ever.

There are about 26,000 participants. Of these, 9,200 are from abroad, with 67 different nationalities (also a record).

Due to the fact that the main sponsor, ING Bank, has cancelled the sponsorship contract, the organization has less prize money to attract the large names in the marathon world. They prefer to have up-and-coming talents.
As long as a finishing time of about 2 hours and 6 minutes is achieved, the organization is confident it will secure its high position on the international ranking list.

More information is on the Amsterdam Marathon website.
