The Amsterdam Marathon is held every year somewhere in October, on a Sunday. It attracts tens of thousands of athletes (about 45,000 in 2015).
The marathon starts and ends in the Amsterdam Olympic Stadium, a stadium built for the Olympic Games that were held in Amsterdam in 1928.
