In October the Amsterdam China Festival will be held.
More than 30 cultural institutions participate, and it is the largest festival with China as a theme that was ever held in the Netherlands.
The Amsterdam China Festival is an initiative of the Concertgebouw. With a view to illustrating the true breadth of Chinese art and culture, other artistic and cultural institutions in Amsterdam were asked whether they too would be interested in participating.
This has led to a festival that comprises not only music, but also a wide range of events and activities that include opera and dance, film and photography, literature, architecture, the media arts and exhibitions of contemporary Chinese art.
The Festival starts on October 1 and lasts the entire month.
More information is on their website.
The official opening is on October 2, in the presence of HRH Willem-Alexander and princess Máxima, on the Museumplein square (between the Rijksmuseum and the Concertgebouw).
