Again gay men assaulted in Amsterdam

The police have arrested 6 teenagers who had attacked 2 gay men last Thursday night.

The 2 men were walking in Reguliersdwarsstraat (one of the streets in Amsterdam centre with several gay bars and clubs), when they were harrassed by the 6 young men. They called them insulting names and threatened them ('I'm going to kill you, I'm going to kill you').
The 2 men were beaten in the face.

The police has arrested all 6 teenagers, one of them is still being held and will be brought before a court. The police believe that the 6 have been involved in other 'gay bashing' incidents, and are looking for more victims, and also witnesses of the incident.
The police made known that 4 of the 6 were of Moroccan , one of Surinamese and one of Turkish origin, and that they are in the age of 15 to 19 years old.

The COC (the main gay lobby organization in the Netherlands) say this incident is at least the 4th in a series of similar incidents in a relatively short period. They believe that 'gay bashing' is coming back into fashion again, and have asked the authorities for more measures.
