Originally, this windmill (from 1674) was used to keep some polder land dry. Until 1965 it stood close to the windmill '1200 Roe' along de Haarlemmerweg. It was moved there because it wasn't necessary any more.
It is now sometimes used to pump water into the adjacent sport park (to keep it moist).
